Clam shell

You can find alot of clam shells along the river. In the old days they had businesses along the rivers which made "buttons" from the clam shells. Often you can find these old clam shells with the actual "holes" for the buttons in them.

View from cliff

Here's view looking down from one of the sandstone bluffs along the river. This was a smaller bluff, that we didn't jump off of due to the shallow water...as you can see!

Cave

Here's a little cave along the river. You could only walk in 25 feet or so, so I'm not sure you could officially call it a cave! ;-)

Jump cliff

Here is the cliff we jumped off of into the deeper parts of the river. I'll tell you, it looked alot higher from up top than it did from this pic down in the river!

Boys in canoe

2 of da boys canoing with 2nd canoe in the background.

The river was really low this year, making for some interesting paddling...or more likely, digging in rocks to push canoe out of mid-river shallows and into deeper water.
